A fortnight is two weeks long. A lot can happen in two weeks. Around here, thousands of unique readers come check out our articles on Android Thoughts! They learn about everything in the Android world from our stellar team of writers, and talk about it in our forums. But it doesn't happen without our dedicated team - a team that I'm extremely proud of and hoping that you might consider joining! You may know me as "vector". I'm the newest contributing editor here at Android Thoughts.

I've always liked mobile devices. I started off with an HP OmniGo and went through a bunch of Palm PC, Pocket PC, and Windows Mobile devices. I've been following Android closely since the release of the G1. As it matured at a staggering rate I finally made the jump to it with a Droid X have no regrets. I'm excited about what Android offers now and the direction it's going!

​I think 2011 is shaping up to be another amazing year for Android and I am excited to be joining the Android Thoughts team at the beginning! After being part of, and benefiting from, the Thoughts Media community for a number of years I'm glad to give back a little in this way. For me this will also be a fun way to interact with others who are interested in the latest Android news. ​I look forward to learning about Android with you!

A few weeks ago, reader Steve The Yaz suggested that it might be a great idea (and useful) for our community to form a thread of tips, tricks, hacks, fun stuff, neato things, stuff to make your friends jealous, etc... about our Android phones. So without further delay, I'd like to kick off the Giant Android Thoughts Tips Thread! Hello everyone! I (usually) go by Karey Westfall and I'm a new contributing editor for the Android Thoughts Team. I'm also new to the Android field, having started exploring the operating system after buying my first Android phone earlier this year. I will admit, I'm still a noob when it comes Android, but I do find the system interesting and am looking forward to learning more about it. And besides, I have a great teacher, which some of you already know, Jon Westfall!

Although I do find technology and computers interesting, and know my way around a computer well enough to be dangerous (and slightly helpful sometimes), they are not my background. I earned an A.S. in Science and studied geology for a few years before deciding I just plain hated college. Then I worked in senior care and banking, which I enjoyed greatly. But I resigned as Jon and I moved to New York for a great career opportunity. So now I spend my time devoted to other favorite activities. Usually you can find me (and sometimes my kitty) either on my computer, reading, knitting/crocheting, or crafting!

Welcome Thoughts Readers, to a site conceived in the back of a bus! Specifically a bus in Seattle, Washington, earlier this year. In the back of said bus was the fearless leader of Thoughts Media, Jason Dunn, and myself, and our discussion rambled over toward Android. Fittingly, a year earlier I had become interested in the platform and was carrying with me a T-Mobile G1, and both Jason and I agreed that the platform was getting bigger and better by the day - the perfect candidate for a new Thoughts Site. But while Jason found Android interesting, he hadn't really "gotten into it" and decided that if a Thoughts Site were to be launched, it would be similar to Apple Thoughts, without his editorial presence.
